Maintain a safe engineering watch and ensure operational efficiency.Operate main and auxiliary machinery along with associated control systems. Manage electrical, electronic, and control systems safely and efficiently.Oversee propulsion plant machinery operations and performance. Assess and maintain the safety and efficiency of propulsion and auxiliary systems. Conduct safe bunkering and ballasting operations. Troubleshoot and restore electrical and electronic systems to normal operation. Identify the root causes of machinery malfunctions and conduct fault assessments. Understand human factors in ERM, focusing on error prevention and decision-making. Participate in simulator exercises to enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and leadership.Practice routine and emergency operations for specific engine types using simulators.
Prerequisites
Participants having a minimum Class IV Marine Engineer COC and marine engineers who wish to improve their knowledge, understanding of the operation of machineries and enhance their professional skills in a modern merchant ship, that have attended previously a Full ERM (5 day) course.
Assessment
SIM Practical Observation. Assessment will be done at end of the course.
