Purpose of High Voltage (HV) AP Switching Operations Training
The HV AP Switching Operations Training course enhances the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary for the safe performance of High Voltage (HV) switching operations as an Authorised Person (AP) within wind turbines and the connected grid. This course provides a thorough understanding of switching operations, covering every stage from planning to execution, including work permits, Task Risk Assessment (TRA), and the roles and responsibilities involved. Emphasising procedural discipline and human factors, this training equips participants to carry out HV switching operations safely, informed by best practices and industry incident learnings. Key skills gained include:

Essential Information

Prerequisites:
Participants must have completed prior HV training, covering electrical safety and safe working practices, and should have at least six months of offshore HV switching experience or relevant shore-based experience.

Assessment:
Participants must achieve at least 80% on a pre-test (closed book) and demonstrate satisfactory performance during practical exercises.

Upon successful completion, participants receive certification indicating their proficiency as an HV Authorised Person for switching operations, meeting industry safety standards.
