Introduction to IADC WellSharp Awareness

The purpose of this course is to provide drilling personnel with the basic understanding of well control. They will also be provided with the basic understanding of how primary well control is maintained, what the indicators are, and how to regain the primary well control if it has been lost.

Essential Information

Prerequisites

No prior certification is required but a basic understanding of drilling operations is expected.

Assessment

Obtain sufficient knowledge to pass a written IADC WellSharp test with minimum 70% score.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the IADC WellSharp Introductory Level certificate valid for five years.

New or entry-level personnel in the drilling industry, including floorhands, derrickmen, and others starting their careers.
Rig crew members who need to understand the basics of well control as part of their job responsibilities.
