O curso mantém e desenvolve o conhecimento e as habilidades práticas necessárias para desempenhar a função de timoneiro de bote salva-vidas deslizante, incluindo preparação, reunião da tripulação, embarque, lançamento, manobra, comunicação e uso de sistemas e equipamentos de emergência.

Prerequisites
Participants must have completed: Basic Safety Training Lifeboat Coxswain Basic Course, or Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats in accordance with STCW Table A-VI/2-1 Personnel who have not served in an emergency response role and have not completed emergency response training or equivalent training within the last 5 years must complete the basic course again.

Who is it for?
Personnel who perform the function of a skid lifeboat coxswain.

Assessment
Participants are assessed throughout all practical training. If a participant does not successfully complete the practical training, the reason for the assessment outcome will be provided. Participants who do not demonstrate achievement of the required competence objectives will not successfully complete the course.

Certification
Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate valid for 2 years
Course content
Mustering
Organisation and management of mustering and embarkation before evacuation.
Lifeboat Preparation
Preparation of the skid lifeboat and its systems for evacuation.
Evacuation
Practical evacuation activities, including launching and operation of the skid lifeboat.
Key Learning Objectives
LO1 - Prepare a skid lifeboat for evacuation.
LO2 - Organise and lead mustering and embarkation into the lifeboat.
LO3 - Communicate by radio, internally in the lifeboat and with the emergency response organisation.
LO4 - Launch the lifeboat from the offshore installation and navigate it to a safe area.
LO5 - Manoeuvre the lifeboat and manage conditions for persons remaining onboard.
LO6 - Operate emergency systems and equipment appropriate to different conditions onboard the lifeboat.
