The position of Transformation Manager in MT reports to Vice President and CEO David Skov. The role will become a core member of the senior leadership team working closely together with other key functions such as Operations, Finance, Commercial and Regional Managing Directors. Furthermore, it is expected that the Transformation Manager will support the CEO in coordinating the Strategy implementation and Transformation.

MT will in Q3 commence the strategy implementation and transformation, expecting it to address business decisions, investments, digital transformation, way of working as well as cultural aspects.

Key responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to attract a talent who want to be a business leader. This journey starts by joining MT in a key support role for the CEO, managing an all-encompassing business agenda, including 1) leading the strategy formulation and implementation work, 2) executing business & performance management and 3) driving the transformation forward. Hence, the role will have a broad scope in practice and requires a versatile profile. While the role itself is an individual contributor role with no direct team members, the Transformation Manager will often be responsible for several projects and initiatives with resources shared by other business functions in MT.
Importantly, the role is clearly defined as an internal career acceleration platform in MT (and Maersk). The plan is that the Transformation Manager spends about 2 years in the role, gaining in-depth knowledge of the business landscape, and operational- & decision-making processes of MT, before taking on a leadership role in one of our business units (P&L responsibility).

Below are some of the expected responsibilities of the role, while practical scope will vary by nature
• Act as daily thought / sparring partner for CEO (review and give feedback on meeting materials)
• Drive and/or support projects to deliver on the CEO business agenda
• Preparation for quarterly offsites for CEO leadership team, incl. preparation of the agenda, coordinating planning efforts, and developing session content
• Join “learning” calls with CEO to understand key take-ways and convert into actions
• Prepare presentations for CEO when he presents at leadership meetings, Town Hall meetings and update meetings with the wider Maersk community etc.
• Support CEO in Senior Leadership Team (SLT) discussions (preparing & action follow up)
• Work with Regional- and Functional Heads to support their critical projects roadmap and how to anchor central initiatives at the regional/local level
• In summary, a close partnership with the CEO on how to drive the agenda forward – supporting the CEO in the management of his day to day tasks which can range from high level, strategic tasks to very practical, day to day challenges that need to be solved.
