At the end of this course, the delegates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Awareness of the current legislation
  • Awareness of the associated physical hazards
  • Awareness of the types of gases that are found in a confined space
  • Know what is deemed as a safe atmosphere
  • Know the characteristics and behaviors of confined space gases
  • Aware of the systems of work that must be in place before working in a confined space
  • Aware of the isolation procedures
  • Know of the types of gas monitors available to test with in a confined space
  • Aware of the roles and responsibilities of the stand by person
  • Aware of air movers and their procedures when using in a confined space
  • Know what an escape set is and what its limitations are when in use
  • The required PPE, RPE and other equipment needed when working in a confined space
