Maersk Training will be supporting the global wind turbine blade industry at this year’s Blade Inspection, Damage & Repair Forum in Brussels, Belgium.

 

On 10–12 October 2017, representatives from the industry will be meeting at the Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel to explore the latest inspection, damage standardisation and add-on solutions to prevent AEP loss and extend the lifetime of wind turbine blades.

Delegates will learn from the hands-on experience of industry-leading speakers who are coming from Bladena, Cornis, 3M, Hensoldt, Renewable Advice, Bladefence, Rope Robotics, GE Renewable Energy, Wind Power LAB, 8.2 Aarufield, Polytech, Prodrone, Engie, Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, and more.

A full-day post-event workshop will focus on the intricacies of blade design and manufacturing; looking at how to ultimately and significantly extend a blade’s lifetime once operational.

Developed with support from wind industry technical experts 8.2 Aarufield, the Competent Rotorblade Technician course is the first of its type to be offered in the UK and is intended to help greatly increase the number of skilled technicians around the world who can competently inspect, assess and repair wind turbine rotorblade damage which in turn supports the ongoing drive to achieve wind energy cost reductions through energy yield improvements.
