Purpose and general responsibilities of the position

• Take initiative for proper and timely action in all aspects of the area of responsibility

• Make suggestions for improvements and cost savings

• Ensure that in all matters – prior to decision – an economical and business like assessment and evaluation is made to ensure that all work is carried out with the utmost efficiency and the best economical result

• Render a good professional service to all customers

• Ensure that established quality parameters are fulfilled

• Ensure relevant flow of information to management and to other relevant parties takes place

• Prepare work procedures/instructions and work routines

• Ensure compliance with course approvals and accreditations, like IADC, IWCF, GWO,

OPITO, NI etc., in area of responsibility

Specific responsibilities of the position

• Responsible for all staff instructors and external instructors in faculty

• Responsible for optimum utilisation of all resources in faculty

• Ensure maintenance of operating equipment used by faculty

• Ensure faculty at all levels operate according to MT standards and directives

• Act as project manager and coordinator for specific projects

• Prepare business cases regarding investments, financing of projects, development of businesses etc. for the boards approval

• Ensure that all procedures in area of responsibility are sufficiently described and implemented

• Develop function through planning, coordination and manage staff, including performance appraisal (PA)

• Responsible for the employment of new instructors and conduct performance appraisal interviews for staff instructors

• Establish and maintain high quality external consultant network

• Ensure that all activities are evaluated and conducted in accordance with the protection of Health & Safety and the Environment

• Recommend required expansion or reduction of staff in faculty to Managing Director

• Support a commercial marketing of company to relevant customers

• Maintain positive customer and subcontractor relations

• Maintain and extend a professional contact with national and international education centres, affiliated companies and authorities

• Assist in the selection process of a relevant further education programmes for the position

• Participate in relevant courses conferences and arrangements

Specific requirements for the position

• Speak and write fluent English

• Preferably experience as an instructor

• Relevant documented theoretical and practical background and career

• Have a positive and proactive approach

• Be approachable for delegates and other employees

• Be willing to learn, contribute actively and grow with the organisation
