Introduction to CAT B EBS Rebreather Add-On for Norwegian Sector

The CAT B EBS (Emergency Breathing System) training module provides helicopter passengers with the practical skills and knowledge required to safely use the CAT B EBS during offshore helicopter evacuation scenarios.

The course is designed to fulfil the requirements of BSL D 2-3 §3a and is delivered fully in accordance with Offshore Norge GSK training plan, criteria 3.7 and 3.8.

All training is conducted exclusively in a pool environment.

Who is it for?

Personnel who hold a valid: • OPITO BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, or • NOGEPA 0.5A Basic Offshore Safety, and who require training in the use of CAT B EBS for offshore helicopter travel.

Assessment

Participants are assessed through practical demonstration in correct use of CAT B EBS.

Courses Content

Participants will demonstrate how the CAT B EBS functions during water adaption exercises and simulated helicopter emergency exercises (HUET evacuations) in accordance with Offshore Norge GSK training plan, criteria 3.7 and 3.8.

Key Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Use the CAT B EBS as an aid during helicopter evacuation.
- Demonstrate safe and correct setup of the system.
- Apply correct breathing techniques and understand the limitations of the equipment.
- Activate the system (manual or automatic) as required during evacuation.
