Introduction to G11 Banksman & Slinger, Module O-1.1
To provide personnel involved in slinging loads with the knowledge and practical skills required for the safe use, maintenance, general control and disposal of lifting gear, including correct communication and signalling during lifting operations.
Through theoretical and practical training, participants develop the competence required to participate safely in lifting operations. The course is verified and accredited by Norsk Sertifisering AS and complies with documented safety training plan F-2702 and NORSOK R-003.

Prerequisites
Participants must be medically fit to conduct manual handling operations.

Who is it for?
Personnel who will be involved in slinging loads and participating in lifting operations.

Assessment
The training is concluded with a written theoretical test. The result is recorded as Passed / Failed.

Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate for G11 Banksman & Slinger, Module O-1.1, corresponding to Module 2.3 onshore / previously F-2702.
Course content
Theory
Regulations and directives; accident causes and consequences; working environment and responsibilities; safe use of lifting equipment; lifting equipment and load tables; dangerous goods marking and transport; communication, radio and hand signals.
Practical
Practical assignments and use of lifting equipment, including application of safe working practices, lifting equipment knowledge and communication and signalling during lifting operations.

LO1 - Describe the safe use, labelling, storage, general control, discard criteria and certification requirements for lifting gear.
LO2 - Recognise relevant regulations, responsibilities and requirements for the safe use of lifting equipment.
LO3 - Identify common causes and consequences of accidents associated with lifting operations.
LO4 - Interpret lifting equipment tables and carry out relevant load calculations.
LO5 - Apply correct radio communication and hand signals during lifting operations.
LO6 - Demonstrate the correct practical use of lifting equipment during lifting operations.
