Course content

Prerequisites:

Participants must be at least 18 years old and have completed Module O-1.1 (or equivalent, Module 1 + 2.3). A valid Certificate of Competence is required.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for operators, supervisors, and personnel involved in fixed-mounted crane operations and lifting activities on offshore and onshore installations.

Assessment:

A theoretical exam consisting of a minimum of 20 questions is administered, requiring an 80% pass rate within a 1-hour timeframe.

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants receive a G20F Operators Certificate issued by a certified registry, with eligibility to advance to practical crane operation certification under Module P-4.2.

Crane Documentation and Inspection:

Training on necessary documentation, inspection protocols, and equipment verification before use.

Crane Construction & Safety Systems:

Detailed insights into the construction and operational safety systems of fixed cranes, including emergency protocols.

Load Capacity & Limitations:

Learning to assess load capacities and limitations to ensure safe lifting operations within established parameters.

Wire Rope & Winch Operation:

Understanding wire rope use, maintenance, winch operation, and inspection standards for safe crane operations.

Key Learning Objectives

Objectives The training will give students insight into principles of offshore crane construction, operation, maintenance and use, so that incidents and accidents in connection with lifting operations are avoided. The training is concluded with a written theoretical test.
