Purpose of GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) Installation Module

The GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) Installation Module provides participants with the foundational skills and knowledge to perform basic installation tasks under the supervision of an experienced technician. This training ensures adherence to safety standards and promotes operational excellence in the wind industry.

Prerequisites

Before attending the BTT Installation Module participants must first complete both the BTT Mechanical and BTT Bolt Tightening modules.

Who is it for?

The Basic Technical Training modules are targeted at candidates who have no previous experience of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical or installation systems, or working with energy powered bolt tightening, but may also be used to upskill candidates who have some knowledge but not of its application in wind turbines

Assessment

The participants will be assessed according to the learning objectives by means of direct observation and supplementary oral questions where appropriate (formative evaluation). Furthermore, the participants will be subjected to a written phase test according to the learning objectives (summative evaluation)

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a GWO BTT Installation certificate, which is an enduring qualification and recognized worldwide in the wind energy sector

Course content

Prerequisites:

Completion of the BTT Mechanical and Bolt Tightening Modules. Wind service personnel must be literate to follow instructions and complete documentation; English skills are advantageous.

GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT) Installation Module Certification. - Certification is valid as long as the participant actively works in the wind turbine environment. Retraining may be required per national or company policy.
