Essential Information

Prerequisites

Participants: Shall have created a personal profile in WINDA and provided their WINDA ID. Will be medically fit, well-rested & show no signs of fatigue, sickness or substance abuse.

Assessment

Participant knowledge, skills and abilities should be assessed on an ongoing basis during practical scenario-based exercises, by means of direct observation and verbal questioning. The instructor should use this as a method of formative evaluation to support participants in reaching the module objectives. The instructor shall also utilise direct observation and verbal questioning on an ongoing basis through the training, to determine participant achievement of the required learning objectives in the domains of knowledge, skills and abilities, to support the overall summative evaluation of the module.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a GWO BST Sea Survival certificate, valid for two years and recognized worldwide in the wind energy sector.

Certificate Gained

Upon successful completion, participants will receive the GWO Sea Survival Training Certificate, recognized globally within the offshore wind energy industry.

Evacuation Procedures

Training in emergency evacuation protocols specific to offshore wind installations.

Life Raft Usage

Instruction in deploying and boarding life rafts in emergency situations.

Survival Techniques

Training in essential survival skills, including shelter building, water procurement, and signaling.

Lifesaving Appliances (LSA)

This section dives into the various lifesaving equipment you might encounter offshore, including life rafts, life jackets, and emergency beacons. You'll learn proper operation and deployment procedures.

Search and Rescue Procedures

Understanding search and rescue protocols and cooperation with maritime authorities.

Man Overboard Techniques (MOB)
