Introduction to GWO Service Lift Installation, Inspection and Repair Module – SLIIR

These inspections cover both initial inspections for the purpose of commissioning the lift, general required inspections, and inspections after replacement of main components.

Essential Information

Prerequisites

Participants must have completed the GWO Service Lift User training module. Participants: Shall have created a personal profile in WINDA and provided their WINDA ID. Will be medically fit, well-rested & show no signs of fatigue, sickness or substance abuse.

Who is it for?

The target group for the Service Lift Installation, Inspection and Repair Module training is personnel working on WTGs within the wind industry by installing, inspecting, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing lifts in a WTG.

Assessment

Participant knowledge, skills and abilities should be assessed on an ongoing basis during practical scenario-based exercises, by means of direct observation and verbal questioning. The instructor should use this as a method of formative evaluation to support participants in reaching the module objectives. The instructor shall also utilise direct observation and verbal questioning on an ongoing basis through the training, to determine participant achievement of the required learning objectives in the domains of knowledge, skills and abilities, to support the overall summative evaluation of the module. Participants will also complete a written theory test to confirm and solidify knowledge and understanding.

Certification

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a GWO Service Lift Installation, Inspection & Repair certificate, which is an enduring qualification and recognized worldwide in the wind energy sector

Key Learning Objectives

The aim of this module is to enable the lift technician to: install and ensure the readiness of the lift and the lift plant by inspecting and maintaining; to take correct measures to acquire assistance; and repair and replace components in a lift in a WTG accordance with relevant manuals and legislation. These inspections cover both initial inspections for the purpose of commissioning the lift, general required inspections, and inspections after replacement of main components.

The participants can solve routine tasks in relation to the commissioning, inspection, installation, and maintenance of lifts in a WTG following guides and manuals
