This course is delivered as a fully-virtual, instructor-led training using Microsoft Teams. Practical assessment for these courses are delivered virtually, via a cloud-based Well Control Simulation program (where required).

1. Early kick detection and response During drilling, participants detect early signs of a kick. They apply their training to stabilise the wellbore pressure and initiate shut-in procedures, preventing escalation and maintaining well control.
2. Managing a pressure surge during workover In a workover operation, a pressure spike occurs unexpectedly. Equipped with well control techniques, participants react swiftly, applying barrier management and risk protocols to ensure team safety and operational continuity.
3. Emergency response during snubbing operations In a high-risk snubbing scenario, participants use emergency procedures from the course to control well pressure effectively, coordinating with the crew to minimise risks and ensure safe operations.
These scenarios underscore the importance of timely responses and well control expertise in high-pressure drilling and workover situations.
