No mandatory prerequisites, but Level 2 certification is recommended before advancing to Level 3 or 4 and relevant experience in drilling or well service operations is expected. Please get in touch for further guidance if in doubt what level to aim for.

All participants must complete the following modules, which form the core knowledge required for pressure control in well intervention operations:
Completion Operations: Focuses on well completion methods and how to safely manage completion pressures.
Completion Equipment: Provides an in-depth understanding of equipment used in well completions and how to use it safely and effectively.
Optional Components:
In addition to the compulsory modules, participants choose one or more of the following optional modules based on their role and professional requirements. Each optional component adds specialised skills for managing specific intervention techniques:
Coiled Tubing Operations: Covers safe handling and pressure control techniques specific to coiled tubing interventions, a commonly used method in well servicing.
Wireline Operations: Teaches effective pressure management for wireline operations, with a focus on maintaining control in complex well environments.
Snubbing Operations: Provides insights into managing pressure control for snubbing operations, which involves pushing pipe into the well under pressure.
Participants must complete both compulsory components and at least one optional component to receive a combined IWCF certification. Certification endorsements reflect the specific components completed, demonstrating the participant’s proficiency in these well intervention areas.

Managing a gas influx during intervention
