Introduction to OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Further (HERTL-F)

The Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Further (HERTL-F) course is designed for personnel who currently serve as Helideck Emergency Response Team Leaders and are required to refresh and maintain their competence in managing offshore helicopter emergencies. Through a combination of theoretical updates and realistic practical exercises, participants review emergency procedures, communication protocols, and team management techniques to ensure continued readiness and compliance with OPITO requirements (in line with OPITO Standard, Product Code: 7542). Successful completion supports ongoing certification and the safe management of helideck emergency operations offshore.

Essential Information

Prerequisites

(a) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Training Certificate or (b) A valid OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader Further Training Certificate or (c) A valid OPITO Helideck Operations Initial Training certificate and a valid Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) certificate and a valid Offshore Emergency Response Team leader (OERTL) Certificate. Medical entry requirements: a)Possess a valid, current offshore medical certificate or b)Possess an operator approved medical certificate, And c)Undergo medical screening by completing an appropriate medical screening form provided by the OPITO-approved Centre

Who is it for?

This Product is for currently-appointed OPITO-certified HERTLs that are required to revalidate their OPITO HERTL certification by refreshing and updating their knowledge and skills in aspects of their role that they cannot practice in the workplace.

Assessment

Learners will be assessed against the outcomes specified in accordance with the assessment guidance detailed in each unit.

Certification

After successful completion, participants will be issued a certificate valid for 2 years.
