The Rig Move Operations course provides advanced training in the planning, control, and execution of jack-up barge relocations in complex offshore environments. It is designed for senior marine personnel responsible for leading and coordinating rig move operations.
The course develops a deep understanding of barge manoeuvring, towing strategies, tug and thruster configurations, and the influence of wind, waves, currents, and shallow-water effects on vessel behaviour. Participants will also examine internal and external force interactions, site-specific and leg penetration assessments, and the critical decision-making required during positioning, soft pinning, and preloading preparation.
Through a blend of classroom instruction and high-fidelity simulator scenarios, senior officers will practice managing real-world rig move challenges, including equipment failures and power limitations, strengthening their ability to lead safe, efficient, and well-controlled offshore relocations.
