Scaffolds are essential structures in many work environments, enabling safe access to elevated areas and supporting a wide range of construction, maintenance, and repair activities. However, improper use, inadequate training, or failure to follow safety standards can result in serious accidents. This course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to work safely and effectively with scaffolds.
Through a combination of theory and hands-on practice, participants will gain a thorough understanding of scaffold regulations, definitions, classifications, and the key components that make up safe scaffold systems. The course covers scaffold erection and dismantling procedures, safe access, platform and load requirements, fall protection systems, inspection protocols, and common safety considerations including PPE, electrical safety, and hazard identification.
Delegates will also take part in a practical session that reinforces safe behaviors and procedures. This includes selecting and using the correct PPE, conducting pre-use inspections, securing materials, applying proper fall protection, and demonstrating safe methods for erecting, using, and dismantling scaffolds.
