Introduction to STCW A-VI/2-2 Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boat

The Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats (PFRB) is to provide training for all seafarers who are assigned as coxswain of a Fast Rescue Boat, to launch and take charge of a Fast Rescue Boat, in accordance with Section A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code 1978, as amended. After finishing the course Proficiency in STCW Fast Rescue Boat Course the course participant should be able to take charge during the launching and operating of the Fast Rescue Boat.

Prerequisites

Certificate of efficiency in operation of life boats, -rafts and manoverboard boat, except from fast M.O.B- boats, according to STCW Code A-VI/2-1. Valid Medical Book/Certificate for seafarers

Who is it for?

Assessment

Delegates will be assessed against the learning outcomes specified in Section VI/2 Table A-VI2-2 of the STCW Code 1978, as amended and the IMO Model Course 1.24 by using direct observation and oral and written questions as appropriate.
