STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Refresher

Participants must have previously completed the basic course in Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats in accordance with STCW Table A-VI/2-1. Participants must provide documentation of a valid Certificate of Competency as a deck, engine or electro-technical officer, and a valid Certificate of Proficiency or course certificate in accordance with STCW Table A-VI/2-1, issued within the previous 5 years. If the competence has expired, participants must document at least 12 months of sea service. The sea service is calculated within the 5 years preceding the course start date.

Personnel who require refresher training for operating survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats. This course does not qualify participants to operate fast rescue boats. Additional training is required for fast rescue boat operations.

Participants must pass a written test with a minimum score of 80%. The written assessment is designed so that the 80% pass mark meets the Norwegian Maritime Authority requirement for full achievement of the required competence. All required practical exercises must be completed. Participants are observed individually by the instructor during practical exercises. The instructor assesses whether the participant demonstrates the required knowledge, understanding and practical skills in accordance with the applicable minimum competence standards.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate valid for 5 years
