David Skov, CEO
David was appointed CEO of Maersk Training at the end of 2021 and was previously Regional Head of Terminals, Africa & Middle East at APM Terminals. David has been with the Maersk Group for more than 26 years with a very strong and extensive background in the Maritime and Port industries.
Head of Operations and HR
Maria Iben Matthiesen, Head of Operations and HR Maria is the Head of Operations and HR at Maersk Training and has been in various roles with Maersk Training for more than 15 years.
Chief Financial Officer
Brian Weishaupt
Brian is the Chief Financial Officer at Maersk Training. He started his journey with Maersk Training as Finance, HR & IT manager, from where he became the Head of European Finance before transitioning to the CFO role. He has an experience of over nine years with Maersk Training.

Maersk Training was founded as the result of a human error in 1978. That error led to an accident that might have been prevented by better training. In a company based on the key value that “no loss should hit us which can be avoided with constant care”, this was not acceptable. The purpose of our company is to improve safety procedures and performance.
Since then, we have added a number of specialized training areas: Maritime, Renewables, Survival, Safety & Security, People Skills, Crane Operation, and Human Resource Services.
Today, Maersk Training is an independent business unit with worldwide training facilities open to all companies.

1999: World’s most advanced anchor handling simulation established in Svendorg, Denmark
2006: First Centre in the UK was established

2010: MOSAIC I – Maersk Offshore Simulation and Innovation Centre was established
Acquisition of Svitser Safety Services and Petcon IPC
2010: First establishment in Scotland
Maersk Training opened their first ever facility in Portlethen, Aberdeen.
2011: Simulation centre in Norway opened
Maersk Training opens it’s very first centre in Stavanger, Norway.
2012: MOSAIC II was established
MOSAIC II opened in Svendborg Denmark on 25th October 2012. This made Maersk Training the owners of the World’s most advanced offshore simulation set up with full crew integration.
2012: Facility in Brazil opened
