Emergency Response & Helideck
To train personnel in the management of major emergencies and assess those that are classed as/potential managers of emergencies.
From basic team member training to full assessment of those required to prove their competency for the Maritime and Oil and Gas industries.
The courses we can offer are as follows: OPITO MEMIR (major emergency management initial response), company-specific MEM training, OPITO OIM Assessment Controlling Emergencies, company-specific PIC Assessment (assessed up to the international industry standard, usually developed with consultation and development with the client's needs), and bespoke training for management teams as requested by a client.
Classrooms and simulators that provide a simulated control room or ECC (emergency control centre) environment for those to be trained or assessed in. These simulators will include relevant documentation, communications and displays of information such as ESD’s panel relevant to a particular operational environment
The training aims to equip delegates with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deal with any offshore helideck and helicopter emergency as either a Team Member or Team Leader.
Delegates will be given theoretical and practical training in relation to a wide variety of offshore helideck and helicopter emergencies. The practical hands-on training will involve using typical equipment used in offshore helideck and helicopter emergencies using real smoke and fire in simulated environments and scenarios.
The courses will cover:
- The role and responsibilities of the Helideck team member/leader
- Helideck emergency systems and response plans
- Types of offshore helideck emergencies for both manned and normally unmanned installations
- Communication and teamwork
- Helideck and helicopter firefighting operations
- Search and rescue operations
- Casualty handling
We have a wide range of equipment typically found offshore and a new helideck and helicopter training unit.
