High Voltage Training

Preparing technicians to work safely with high voltage systems

Explore courses
GWO High Voltage Operator 2

Why High Voltage training matters

Working with high voltage carries serious risks. Without proper training, technicians face hazards that can impact both safety and asset performance.

High Voltage training gives your teams the knowledge and skills to operate safely under a documented safe system of work. It ensures confidence in planning, switching, isolation, earthing, and cable pulling.

When technicians are trained in HV procedures:

  • Risks of electrical incidents are reduced

  • Tasks are performed consistently and safely

  • Authorisation pathways become clearer

  • Teams can respond effectively in emergencies

  • Projects run with fewer delays and stoppages

What we offer

Modules are GWO- or STCW-certified and support progression toward employer HV authorisation.

GWO High Voltage Operator 1

GWO High Voltage Operator

28-hour course covering safe operation of HV equipment. You will learn: • The Five Safety Rules and SSOW principles • Switching, isolation, and absence-of-voltage testing • Earthing and return-to-service procedures • Communication protocols with control rooms

GWO High Voltage Cable Pulling 3

GWO High Voltage Cable Pulling (HVCP)

7.5-hour course focused on practical HV cable handling. You will learn: • Cable theory and inspection • Correct protection and handling methods • Planning and executing safe cable pulls • Completion checks and documentation
