Topsoe and Maersk Training Team Up to Raise Safety Standards in Power-to-X

As the race to scale green fuels accelerates, two Danish companies are stepping in to close a critical safety gap.

A Fast-Moving Industry Without Safety Rules

Power-to-X, the process of turning renewable electricity into e-fuels, is seen as a critical component for the energy transition. But while the technology is advancing at speed, safety standards have not kept up. Today, there are no dedicated guidelines for this emerging sector, meaning each project must reinvent training or piece together training from other parts of the energy and chemical industry, leading to inefficiencies from training gaps, overlapping training and high cost of development.

That’s why Topsoe and Maersk Training have joined forces.

Their mission: to create realistic training simulations, competency-based learning, and a strong safety culture across the entire Power-to-X value chain.

Sundus Cordelia Ramli, Chief Commercial Officer Power-to-X at Topsoe, warns that the industry is moving faster than regulation can keep up. “The Power-to-X industry is scaling faster than regulation can keep up, and that makes proactive safety leadership critical,” she said.
