Practical skills in tanker cargo operations, for making a more effective contribution to the safety of the ship in normal and emergency situations, with emphasis on the following:

1. Operation of Cargo handling machinery.

2. An understanding of the need for segregating these cargoes and the dangers when handling (Loading, unloading and Tank cleaning) these hazardous cargoes.

3. Planning of cargo and ballasting operations with all aspects of Stability and Stress calculations.

4. A greater understanding of efficient cargo operation keeping procedures and teamwork during watch keeping and cargo handling, in normal and in emergency situations.
