The BOSIET course enables delegates to gain a basic knowledge of specific safety issues relevant to offshore installations and an understanding of emergency response on an offshore installation and during helicopter transit.

The BOSIET course consists of 4 modules, including both theory and practical sessions:

• Safety induction
• Sea survival and emergency first aid
• Fire fighting and self rescue
• Helicopter safety and escape

NB: Due to legal requirements, the BOSIET OPITO course will include Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).

Upon completion of the course, delegates will have earned a basic understanding and awareness of the hazards they will face when working offshore. They will also receive an introduction to the safety regime and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate those hazards. Following instructor explanation and demonstration delegates must show understanding and competency in the different course modules.

Digital delivery

The theoretical part of the OPITO BOSIET (Incl CA-EBS) – Digital delivery will be delivered online via a link provided after signing up for a class. The average duration of the e-learning is 07-10 hours. The theoretical e-learning can be done up to 3 months prior to attending the practical day.

The practical part of the OPITO BOSIET (Incl CA-EBS) – Digital delivery has a duration of 01 day.
Please note an examination on the theory will performed upon arrival for the practical part. This examination must be passed in order to continue on the course.
