Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness e-learning

Dangerous goods are articles or substances which can pose a significant risk to health, safety or to property when transported by air. The course provides the participants the necessary knowledge to safely and efficiently perform their duties regarding handling of dangerous goods in both daily operations and emergency situations.

The course is made with reference to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, updated to edition 62 (2021), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions, and EASA part SPA.DG.105(a).
The course content is in accordance with the requirements of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Appendix H tables H.A.1.5.A and H.A.1.5.B, and covers all categories of staff 1 through 17.

Upon completion the course you will be able to:

  • Define, identify and classify dangerous goods
  • Identify legislation relevant to transport of dangerous goods by air
  • Demonstrate knowledge of requirements for documentation, labelling, packing and packaging
  • Carry out correct loading and unloading of dangerous cargo for transport by air, including handling of documentation
  • Apply knowledge regarding emergency procedures and define responsibilities
